JOB DESCRIPTION:
If you want to be part of a growing business, we need people with passion and pride for an exciting role. You will be making a contribution for a green environment and build supply relationships for green reuse and recycle sustainability. If you have tenacity, strong computer, phone and prospecting skills for identifying and qualifying new sources to acquire and buy assets for resale. You will also be responsible for writing descriptions and posting some of the merchandise for sale. Position is in our Santa Clara facility.

THE COMPANY:
Surplus Service is in the high growth Green sustainability Reuse and Recycle industry. Our reverse logistics model “Upcycles” depleted electronics giving them a second life via reuse, refurbish, data removal, resale or eco-friendly recycling. We source and sell surplus electronics from e-waste, liquidation and retail return goods. Our expertise spans over 10 years and we are a certified green small women owned business. We’re the real life version of TV shows like Storage Wars and Auction Hunters. Our diverse client base is IT based with many medical, government and high technology companies. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Go getters will do well in this role. Being skillful at sourcing and buying electronic assets for profitable sales. Aggressively prospecting, qualifying and developing supply and source opportunities are a key competency. When you find surplus, we can buy it, bid on it or get it for free. 
  • Prospective clients are: auctions, government, high technology enterprises, electronic retailers, OEM’s, telecom, networking, medical, professional, universities and schools and organizations selling surplus equipment like devices, instruments, computers, phone systems, servers, liquidations and e-waste recycling etc. 
  • Key decision makers are: Return To Vendor Managers (RTV), Facility Managers, Environmental Health & Services, Sustainability Managers, Risk Managers, IT/IS Managers, Accountants and Operation Managers. 
  • B2B sourcing requires a high energy, eager, motivated and persistent internet and phone research. You’ll need to call many prospects per day to be successful. Excellent computer skills including internet, Outlook, Word and Excel. Want 3-5 years of sourcing, buying and internet experience. Experience with social media would be helpful.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information. Monitor multi bids. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, read publications, networking. Multiyear experience in prior sourcing, buyer and or acquisition management is a plus. The position reports to the President in our Santa Clara facility. 

COMPENSATION: 
Compensation is a competitive base with uncapped commission potential tied to the acquisition and sale of merchandise sourced. Legitimate business expenses will be reimbursed.
