THE COMPANY: Surplus Service is in the high growth reuse green industry. Accelerated technology solutions have driven increased frequencies in upgrading and higher volume obsolescence. Our business is in the back end of the high technology industry, the reverse logistics of buying and selling of surplus, overstock, liquidation and returns goods and we are a green certified e-waste collector. Our service model of closed loop asset management provides reuse, internet, green services, data removal and end of life recycling options. Our expertise spans almost 10 years and we are one of the largest market leaders. We source and sell products domestically as well as overseas. If you like TV shows like Pawn Stars, Storage Wars, Auction Hunters etc., our company is the real life business version. Our diverse client base is electronics and IT based with many high technology companies. We have a large warehouse, trucks and a yard to pick-up, store and deliver merchandise. 

JOB DUTIES: 
  • Meet, greet and keep track of customers 
  • Manages daily data entry, contracts & filing 
  • High level of organizational, written and oral communication skills 
  • Answer and transfer incoming phone calls 
  • Manage any messages 
  • Skilled to correspond via mail, email, and fax on Outlook 
  • Creates presentation via Power Point and documents via Word to support staff 
  • Manages customer invoices via Quick Books and Excel 
  • Keep front desk area and offices tidy and inviting 
  • Works independently and takes initiative with good judgment 
  • Follows up with potential new and existing clients 
  • Gets along with and motivates team 
  • High energy, attention to detail and ability to multi task 
  • Ability to facilitate company events, meetings and presentations 
  • Ability to work on the internet with Google, Craigslist and eBay etc. 
  • Assists or manages assigned special projects or additional duties as needed 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Have a positive, outgoing personality 
  • High School diploma or GED 
  • 3+ years’ experience as an Administrative Assistant role 
  • Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency with Quick books Pro, MS Office, i.e. emailing, setting up conference calls, appointments, presentations or spreadsheets etc. 
  • Ability to follow direction and work independently as well as part of our team. 
  • Ability to do multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred 
  • Ability to be flexible with changing daily demands 

WORK HOURS: Typical hours range from 25 -35 hours per week with regular workday hours being 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, with one hour lunch. 

PAY RATE: 
$8.00 – $10.00 per hour. There are no health benefits associated with this part-time position.
