JOB SUMMARY
The Restaurant Supervisor operates the main dining room, Private Dining Room and Lounge area efficiently, safely, and within the company’s standard of operations. Responsibilities include maintaining proper staffing levels through the quality selection and development of employees, building relationships through guest satisfaction, accurate reporting of numbers and effective cost controls, and properly handling of guest and employee issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Ensures that all messages via e-mail or phone have been properly reviewed and attended to especially those regarding resident meals with special needs and catering events.
  • Assigns stations to every server, rotating every day.
  • Ensures that every table is clean and organized.
  • Welcomes all the residents as they enter the main dining room.
  • Ensures that all the residents are served and all their needs are met. Helps with beverage refills. Helps clear the tables of used plates and utensils. Also helps those residents requiring assistance in carrying their plates/glasses.
  • Ensures that all the servers clear and clean all the tables in time for the second seating.
  • Inspects the floor area frequently, especially main walkways, for any spills and makes sure it is cleaned immediately.
  • Act as host/hostess to seat residents and assign tables.
  • Assign additional duties to servers when necessary.
  • Assist in bar operation as necessary.
  • Usage and training of staff on the AOD POS system.
  • In the absence of the Restaurant Manager, exhumes that position and runs the operation accordingly.
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
At least three years of experience in restaurant operations, food production, dining services and cost management; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATES
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge and abilities listed, typically:
  • Vocational training or college course work in food service management or related field.
  • Enrollment in or completion of the State-approved course for dietetic services supervisors, level one or higher required
  • First Aid certification
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Requires Serve Safe Certification
OBRA & TITLE 22 REQUIREMENTS
  • Ensures that residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage a complaint, are well established and maintained at all times.
  • Maintains confidentiality of appropriate resident care information to assure their rights are protected.
  • Reports all incidents/accidents, unsafe and hazardous conditions/equipment immediately. Follows established safety rules and regulations. Maintains work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.

  • Photocopier Facsimile machine Ten key adding machine.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
  • Temperature controlled, indoor modular office space. Hazardous Environmental - possible exposure to human body fluids requiring use of Standard Precautions.

  • Pushing, pulling, dragging - Continuously - up to 6 hours, 30 lbs.- 1/4 mile
  • Climbing – Rarely - up to 12 minutes
  • Balancing – Frequently - up to 5 hours
  • Kneeling/crouching or squatting - Occasionally - up to 2 hours
  • Use of feet (other than walking) - Occasionally 30 minutes per day
  • Use of hands – Requires simple grasping, firm grasping, or fine manipulation with dominant/non-dominant hand or both hands.
  • Hearing – Requires the ability to hear at close proximity (0-5 feet), requires the ability to hear at a distance (up to 20 feet) and the ability to hear in both ears.
  • Vision – Requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less, clarity of vision at 20 feet or more and accommodation of eye to focus clearly at varying distances.
