Food Processors, Press Operators/Helpers and Mechanical Assembly

#1 Food Processors: Hayward, CA
Pay: $9.50 - $9.80/hr Non Negotiable

Hiring for Seafood Processors who will utilize a variety of physical skills on a heavy duty production line, transforming up to 40,000 lbs of raw seafood daily into a high quality finished product. Seafood processors are generally assigned to a specific department, but may transfer between departments on a daily/hourly basis, as needed.

Processing Department
  • Defrosting product; working in cold storage areas, transferring bulk product to defrosting room (carrying up to 70lbs)
  • Washing, weighing, measuring, and cutting product
  • Scaling ingredients (simple math)
  • Cooking product by boiling, steaming, smoking and grilling
  • Operating mixing and/or spinning machines
  • Moving up to 1100lb. tanks and other equipment
Requirements/Expectations
  • Basic math skills for weighing products
  • Dress Attire: Jeans up to waist, no torn/holes on clothing, no clothing with foul language/ condescending remarks and no shorts
  • Required Sanitation Uniform (will be provided by Azuma): Face mask, hair net, gloves, plastic apron, covered beard and steel toe rubber boots
Work Environment Conditions/Requirements
  • Must be able to work around big machinery including wet areas
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment with strong raw seafood smell
  • Must be able to lift minimum of 20-30 lbs
  • Ability to stand for lengthy periods of times
#2 Press Operators/Helpers: Union City, CA
Pay: $10-$11/hr-Non Negotiable
Hiring for one of the largest flexible packaging manufacturers on the West Coast and one of the biggest suppliers of produce packaging in the country is looking to fill the opportunity of Press Operator.

Job Summary:
The successful candidate must set up, operate, maintain, repair and adjust presses, assist in training, check quality, work closely with the maintenance, mounting and ink departments, and make sure coworkers follow safe work practices.  This position is under the supervision of the Press Department Supervisor and Press Manager.

Essential Functions:
  • Operate a press. This includes set ups, running jobs, monitoring inks, maintenance and repair, and supervising the work of a helper. Run press at best possible speed. Minimize waste.
  • Understand the operation of the press you run. Be able to troubleshoot when needed.
  • Check print quality throughout the shift. Take necessary action to meet quality required. Make sure plates are clean during printing, and make sure they are returned clean to the mounting department after press run.
  • Monitor ink quality and usage throughout shift. If there are any problems or questions, find press department section leader or ink person.
  • Follow instructions on the job envelope and specifications sheet. If there are any questions, find the section leader or a member of management.
  • Using the sample provided and instructions on the job envelope, proofread a sample you produce and get another operator or section leader to double check before running a job.
  • Work with the maintenance department to make sure your press is maintained and repaired in a timely fashion.
  • Help make necessary adjustments and repairs to ensure proper operation or your press. If necessary, work overtime to perform adjustments and repairs.
  • Follow the job schedule. Where there are any questions about the schedule, direct them to the immediate section leader. If the section leader is not available ask a member of management.
  • Fill out production reports and any other necessary reports.
  • Assist in the training of department personnel.
  • Make sure press is turned over to the next shift clean and well stocked. Give a report to the incoming operator about any outstanding production issues.
  • Work safely.
Qualifications:  
  • Warehouse/Production Work experience . 
  • Knowledge of math and measurements. 
  • The ability to work well with others.
#3 Mechanical Assembly: Fremont, CA
Pay: $11-$12/hr – Non Negotiable

Summary:
Assembly of mechanical housings, systems and hardware for both stand-alone products and products containing printed circuit board assemblies.  Primary work is conducted while standing utilizing hand tools (powered and manual), machinery or applicable materials.  Perform soldering terminations of wire assemblies, as required, to mechanical housings & systems, as well as validation of assembled systems utilizing provided test & measurement equipment, as required & documented.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret assembly instructions, drawings and work instruction processes.
  • Identify hardware, wire assemblies, sheet metal and plastic components.
  • Work with miniature to large components that may require visual magnification.
  • Integration of electronic assemblies and cables into mechanical housings.
  • Hand solder wire assemblies utilizing established industry standards to mechanical sub-assemblies.
  • Perform wire terminations utilizing specified hand tools such as crimpers.
  • Use various hand tools (pliers, rulers, cutters and pneumatic tools such as torque drivers, torque wrenches and screwdrivers).
Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Perform general physical activities.
  • Monitor processes, materials, and surroundings.
  • Spend time making repetitive motion.
  • Sense of urgency, successful at meeting deadlines.
  • Mechanical aptitude/dexterity and the ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to utilize the MES system.
  • Knowledge of IPC-DVD-64C.
  • Pass IPC-A-610, Module 1 & 2 and J-STD-001.
  • Demonstrate to satisfaction of the auditor – ability to do the requirements of the job
  • Must have ability to comprehend and read work instruction provided in English
  • Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 related to wire terminations.
Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of two years of experience
  • Experience using computers.
