Position description:
Calico is inviting applications from lab support technologists who are excited to work as part of a team focused serving the daily activities of the research scientists. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented person who will work in the media prep facility. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Prepare liquid media and agar plates accurately using sterile technique
Prepare agar plates using an automated pourer
Buffer preparation as needed by researchers
Routine maintenance and upkeep of media prep equipment and area
Assist in maintaining strain collections and cell lines, including organizing freezer stocks and spreadsheets
Ordering and stocking lab consumables
Supporting the research laboratory by helping with general setup, maintenance, and other tasks as needed

Position requirements:
A high school diploma is required, and either an associates degree in a relevant discipline or at least two years experience in a working laboratory is preferred. Familiarity with basic word processing and spreadsheet software is required. You need to be an enthusiastic team player, thrive on attention to detail, and have excellent organizational skills.
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
