Job Opening in Palo Alto: Associate Database Programmer

Associate Database Programmer Description: Annual Reviews is looking for a full-time Associate Database Developer to join our Information Technology team in our Palo Alto office. The position is important in helping the company move its data systems and reporting needs forward. The Associate Database Developer will provide technical software and hardware support for a medium-sized office and have opportunities for database administration, development, reporting and business analytics. The right candidate will be self-motivated, willing to learn new skills and have excellent interpersonal skills to work with different departments and groups. Good verbal and written communication skills are a must. Some of the primary responsibilities of this role include implementing, maintaining and supporting new SQL-based implementations and customizations. The candidate will assist with implementing, maintaining, and supporting cloud and on-premise SQL Server based solutions for the organization including the SQL Server Business Intelligence (BI) stack: SSAS, SSIS, and SSRS; .Net development in VB and C#; data normalization tasks in various delimited or non-delimited formats and xml; report writing in Microsoft Dynamics GP, Pivotal CRM, Sage ACT, SQL Reporting Services, and Crystal Reports. Responsibilities:  Provide internal support for the company’s enterprise systems: Microsoft Dynamics GP, Pivotal CRM, ACT, SharePoint, and other various SQL based custom systems  Develop and maintain business analysis reports on SQL based platforms leveraging SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) and/or Crystal Reports  Assist with Business Intelligence (BI) related initiatives as assigned  SQL Development - write and troubleshoot TSQL code and design (queries, stored procedures, user defined functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints) in a Microsoft environment  Perform data normalization tasks in both delimited, non-delimited, and xml file formats  Integrate various business applications  Perform basic SQL Server Administration (e.g. backups, jobs, and scheduled tasks)  Develop and implement Microsoft SharePoint enhancements and customizations  Write reports, documentation, operating manuals and maintain IT policies and procedures  Provide user training, support and feedback  Assist with defining objectives through consultation with staff and ensuring that database design meets user requirements  Perform other tasks and projects as assigned Education & Experience  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field  2-3 years of successful experience with Microsoft SQL Server o Administering databases, creating stored procedures, functions, & triggers o Fluent in TSQL and can perform ad-hoc queries on the fly o ability to write and troubleshoot TSQL code and design (queries, stored procedures, user defined functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints) in a Microsoft environment is a must  Intermediate C#, VB knowledge and experience  Crystal Reports and SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) – experience in designing intermediate to advanced reports  Strong Microsoft SharePoint skills  Experience with ERP and CRM systems a plus  Good Experience in code migration and database change management  Very good analytical and creative problem solving skills  Good work ethic, team player, positive and self-motivated  Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
