YMCA is looking for enthusiastic, kid loving, part-time School-Age Child Care
Teachers to work at one of our licensed child care sites located on local
school campuses. Morning shifts between 7am-12pm and afternoon shifts between 2pm-
6pm Monday through Friday (1pm-6pm on Wednesday s) are available.
The positions are responsible for helping to maintain a safe, clean before/after school site during the school year and a full day program during the summer; ensuring a high level of program quality and working to establish a positive relationship with all program participants and their families. These staff will provide a positive role model to children within the philosophy of YMCA standards and expectations with emphasis on our character counts philosophy.
Administrative Duties
- Curriculum planning and implementation.
- Maintaining a clean and organized facility.
- Build positive relationships with kids, parents, and school personnel.
Qualifications
This positions requires a commitment to the YMCA mission and its core values of: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility as well as a commitment to building developmental assets in youth. Additionally, the YMCA values diversity, youth, and a broad vision of health and wellness which is enhanced by relationship building.
Fully Qualified Teachers must have a minimum of 12 semester units (16 quarter units) in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or a related field (e.g., recreation, psychology, education, sociology, etc). Previous experience working or volunteering in any child or youth development program is required.
It is the responsibility of the staff upon being hired to provide a health screening and a negative TB test before being allowed to work with youth as well as passing state licensing fingerprint clearance.Also, if hired staff are responsible to get certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid within 90 days of hire.
Minimum age of 18.

Compensation
Pay range is $12-14 per hour depending on experience and
education.
